Job Description

Accounting & Payroll Specialist Engineering Resources of Southern California (ERSC) is looking for a qualified and talented and experienced Accounting and Payroll Specialist to join our team in Redlands, CA. Who is ERSC? ERSC was created in 1996 to provide specialized engineering services to municipalities, agencies, water, and special districts. Our team focuses on maximizing technical abilities, work ethic, personality and character to the benefit of our clients in order to create long-lasting and strong partnerships while providing outstanding services. The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate supports the finance and operations team by managing payroll processes, accounts payable and receivable, and various administrative accounting functions. This role ensures accurate financial tracking, timely processing of transactions, and effective coordination with internal staff, consultants, and vendors.
The Position's Duties Include:
Payroll Administration Coordinate and review employee timesheets for payroll accuracy and completeness Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner using ADP Process and manage certified payroll in compliance with applicable regulations Maintain organized payroll records and documentation Accounts Payable (AP)Enter and process all invoices and ACH payments Maintain accurate vendor and subconsultant records Add subcontractors to Deltek Ajera and maintain ACH database Ensure all payments are processed according to company schedules Accounts Receivable (AR) Support invoicing processes and maintain receivables records Coordinate requests for revised invoices Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections efforts Cash Management Process and record daily deposits Manage and reconcile petty cash Expense & Reimbursement Tracking Process directors' mileage reports Review and submit directors' expense reports Track and process miscellaneous expense reports, including inspection-related expenses Vendor & Database Management Maintain and update ACH information for subcontractors and vendors Ensure accuracy and organization of vendor and payment databases Assist with onboarding subcontractors into financial systems (e.g., Deltek Ajera) General Accounting Support Track and maintain records of asset purchases Set up and maintain contracts in Deltek Ajera Assist with audits, reporting, and financial documentation when needed Provide administrative support to accounting and leadership team
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred 2+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, or administrative support Proficiency with Deltek Ajera system required Proficiency with ADP payroll systems required Experience with certified payroll reporting required Experience with accounting software (Deltek Ajera experience a plus) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Key Competencies Accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills Effective communication and coordination skills Ability to handle confidential financial information Problem-solving and follow-through Why Work for ERSC?
