Job Description

Kan Herb Company has been providing quality herbal supplements to acupuncturists and other health care professionals and their clients since 1987. Kan began a new chapter when it changed leadership in 2022, and we are continuing our evolution by adding to our team with this position who will report to the CEO and play a key role in Kan's success. Kan launched a new ERP system in January 2025, migrating from QuickBooks Online to Acumatica, which runs finance and bookkeeping, as well as managing inventory, manufacturing work orders and inventory planning, COGS, and order fulfillment and shipping. Kan desires to bring an in-house team member to lead our bookkeeping in Acumatica, to assist or possibly replace a remotely working contract bookkeeper we have been working with since September 2025. This is a unique and exciting challenge and opportunity for the right person!
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the finance module within Kan's Acumatica ERP system.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports and complete month-end close.
  • Manage all
AR:
communicate with customers around outstanding invoices, credit memos, refunds, etc.
  • Enter payroll journal entries based on Gusto payroll reports.
  • Manage all
AP:
Oversee the payment of invoices and disbursement of ACH transactions. (We use Ramp for AP processing)
  • Perform bank rec on a weekly basis.
  • Work with CEO to prepare and track annual budget and monthly/quarterly cash flow forecasting, including tracking of costing of manufactured goods
  • Assist with annual audit and tax compliance.
  • Perform general bookkeeping and other related duties for the Company
  • Work on COGS calculations & continually improving COGS accuracy
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Excel is a must.
  • At least three years of relevant experience, preferably with manufacturing experience, and a grasp of COGS accounting.
  • Knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles, accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Bonus points for knowledge of Acumatica, Ramp, Shopify.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal and written skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
