Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day financial operations for an organization based in Santa Cruz, California. This role is ideal for someone who can manage accounting activities independently, maintain accurate records, and support timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will bring strong bookkeeping expertise, confidence working in QuickBooks, and the ability to handle multiple priorities with precision.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full bookkeeping cycle, including recording financial activity and maintaining accurate general ledger entries.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while ensuring invoices, payments, and collections are handled on schedule.
  • Reconcile bank and other balance sheet accounts regularly to confirm the accuracy of financial records.
  • Administer payroll from start to finish, ensuring employee payments and related records are completed correctly and on time.
  • Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation to reflect routine and adjusting accounting activity.
  • Complete month-end closing tasks and help produce organized financial information for leadership review.
  • Maintain accounting data within QuickBooks and support updates or changes to financial processes when needed.
  • Monitor records for discrepancies and resolve issues promptly to preserve reporting accuracy and compliance.
