Job Description

In addition to holistic and biological dentistry services, we are pioneering and implementing new techniques and treatments in airway and integrative dentistry (nutrition, inflammation, microbiome health, TMJ, pain, occlusion, airway, breathing, sleep) as well as full mouth reconstruction with implants and/or natural teeth (see www.3on6.com). We are looking for someone eager and excited to learn and grow, as we will be providing education in integrative dentistry as well as on-the-job training in all things business, customer service, collection billing and claims, and all things clinical dentistry, holistic health and more. The primary role of the Front Office Insurance/AR Specialist is to effectively arrange and manage patient financials/insurance for all patients and collect all balances due at the direction of the OM and/or Front Office Supervisor. Key duties associated with collecting patient finances effectively include: knowing and executing insurance verification for all patients, knowing and utilizing financial/insurance options for the patient, educating patients on copayments and balances due and overcoming financial objections while arranging for collection of any balances due after services are rendered. Key duties associated with managing office finances/insurance include: The accurate coordination of fees, input of fee schedules, annual updates to fee schedules, explaining insurances and balances to patients, the ability to work with insurance company representatives effectively and assisting in all front office tasks. To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform the following: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Coordinate fees and insurance benefits for patients. Balance ledgers in Dentrix Keep record and report progress to OM daily Maintain minimum collection levels as dictated by management Know and use financial options to give patients choices to pay balances. Be able to overcome financial objections and offer options for payment. Maintain accurate financial paperwork. Properly use account software (Dentrix). Obtain Pre-Authorizations from and file claims to insurance companies in a timely manner. Meet criteria for office cleanliness and maintenance. Participate in required office meetings and CE. Be educated regarding the payment options we offer and be able to answer patient inquiries. Play your role in the office mission/best patient experience. Understanding insurance limits and exclusions for coverages. Perform other duties as assigned. Provide necessary information to team members to better serve our patients. Follow office protocol for AR collections and follow up and possess the ability to effectively handle patient inquiries regarding balances Answer phones to company standards and answer patient questions effectively. Balance ledgers and apply payments correctly Perform front desk duties when required by supervisor(s). You will be cross trained in this area therefor prior experience is helpful but not required Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor's degree desired but not required 3-5 years of experience in dental, preferably front office experience Motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized. Ability to creatively solve problems and overcome obstacles Fun professional with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of office practices, technology and insurance Understanding of general dental operations and patient flow issues Knowledge of basic computer software applications ie. Mac and Google, telephones, copiers Ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance plans Ability to draw valid conclusions and apply sound judgment Ability to interact with patients, team members and insurance representatives Ability to apply basic math skills to patient financials
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
