We are seeking a dedicated and organized Church Bookkeeper to join our vibrant faith community. In this vital role, you will oversee all financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and transparency in church accounting processes. Your work will support the church's mission by managing donations, expenses, and budgets with integrity and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for serving the community through effective financial stewardship.

Position Duties:

Accounts Payable and Receivable Prepares payroll and associated reports Maintain the annual budget and analyze the costs of each department and church cost Resolve accounting discrepancies Post information to accounting journals & follow standard accounting practices. Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions. Balance accounts by reconciling entries against bank statements. Maintain an orderly filing system for deposits and receipts Provide information and reports to the Treasurer on a timely basis as requested Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements; filing reports; advising lkeadership on needed actions.

Position Qualifications:

Prefer a minimum AA Degree in accounting studies or business school, or equivalent experience Bookkeeping experience, prefer non-profit experience Exceptional customer service skills and an ability to communicate (oral and written) Patience and ability to work with volunteers Strong attention to detail Able to prioritize numerous tasks and adapt to unexpected situations Proficiency required in Microsoft Office Experience in QuickBooks Online required Experience in non-profit fund accounting is desirable Duties Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, including donations, tithes, offerings, and expenses Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with annual budgeting processes Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments Reconcile bank statements regularly to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial data Support fundraising efforts by tracking contributions and coordinating donor acknowledgments Assist in organizing church events by managing budgets and expense reports Provide guidance on financial policies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations Join us in making a meaningful difference through your financial expertise!
