Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a busy environmental services organization in Stamford, Connecticut. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed financial work, accurate recordkeeping, and resolving invoice-related issues in a fast-paced onsite setting. The person in this role will help maintain smooth payment operations by reviewing transactions, entering data correctly, and assisting with reconciliation activities while providing responsive internal and external support.
Responsibilities:
- Review invoices and payment records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before processing.
- Enter accounts payable information into financial systems with a high level of precision and timeliness.
- Reconcile expenses and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies and ensure proper resolution.
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to answer payment questions and address account issues professionally.
- Maintain organized records of invoices, approvals, and related financial documents for audit readiness.
- Assist with tracking outstanding items and following up on missing details needed to complete payment processing.
- Support ongoing accounts payable operations by helping improve accuracy and consistency across daily workflows. Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
- Working knowledge of invoice processing, expense reconciliation, and financial data entry.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage repetitive tasks accurately.
- Comfortable communicating with vendors and internal stakeholders in a customer-focused manner.
- Ability to work onsite in Stamford, Connecticut.
- Proficiency with basic office and accounting systems, including data entry tools and spreadsheets.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines.
