Position Summary The Senior Finance Associate is an essential role in RESOLVE's Washington, DC office and across the family of RESOLVE organizations and enterprises. In our small, growing, international organization, the Senior Finance Associate supports the Controller with day-to-day accounting activities and will play an important role in bringing key accounting functions in-house from external consultants. This role is responsible for processing transactions, preparing account reconciliations, and supporting the monthly close across multiple entities. This is a hands-on position for someone with strong accounting fundamentals who is comfortable working in the general ledger and contributing to a full month-end close. Reporting Relationships Reports to:
Controller, while providing support to Senior Manager, FP&A Key Duties and Responsibilities Finance and Reporting Process accounts payable, including vendor setup, invoice entry, and coordination of payment processing; ensuring Accounts Payable moves through the internal review process in Net30. Prepare customer invoices and assist with accounts receivable follow-up. Invoice preparation may include pulling reports from our accounting system, pulling receipts, preparing Excel reports, etc. Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records. Prepare monthly reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, including: Cash and bank accounts Credit cards and other cash-related accounts Accounts receivable and related schedules Prepaid expenses and accruals Fixed assets and depreciation schedules Investigate and resolve reconciling items. Support the month-end close process, including preparation of schedules and documentation. Set up new project codes in the accounting system. Assist with expense reporting and credit card reconciliation processes. Deposit checks via remote deposit. Support the allocation of expenses to proper programs and projects, and to RESOLVE's related entities. Support tax, payroll and other state and federal filings. Assist with audit preparation and documentation. Assist with annual 1099 preparation and filings. Manage the finance calendar and flag to related parties upcoming deadlines. Utilize and create effective task tracking and management systems, to ensure that tasks are carried through to successful completion. Provide support to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), in preparation of funder reports and quarterly forecasts/ annual budgets, using actuals data. Administrative Support Monitor the Finance team's general emails daily; respond and/or route requests appropriately. Maintain organized contract and administrative records for Finance, in support of annual audit. Coordinate with external IT support for basic troubleshooting and issue tracking. Qualifications The position requires the following experience: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience in accounting. Nonprofit accounting experience, including general ledger work, account reconciliations; participation in month end close. Experience with the accounting software Intacct, QuickBooks, and bill.com, Spend and Expense (preferred). Strong Excel and database skills with demonstrated proficiency in other Office products (Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience working in a multi-entity environment a plus. Aptitude at developing and strengthening organizational finance processes. Ability to develop and follow a personal process for tracking tasks; planning and project management. An ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. A self-starting attitude, with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Strong interpersonal skills to navigate and support interactions across staff, consultants, partners, and our broader networks. The position requires adherence to established procedures and places a value on problem-solving where new approaches, procedures, and systems can result in improvements. Compensation & Work Arrangements This is a full-time, hybrid position.
Location:
Washington, DC.
Salary Range:
$55,000 - $70,000 USD, with specific placement in the range dependent upon qualifications, experience, and demonstrated skillset.
