Accounting Assistant

Job DescriptionJob Description Job Purpose:

To support financial management and operations of the credit union through general accounting practices in accordance to GAAP and internal policy within a high paced environment.

Responsibilities:

The Accounting Assistant will have the following primary responsibilities but not limited to: Posting, maintaining, and reviewing general ledger accounts; accounts payable; end of month closing procedures; inventory and maintenance of fixed assets; backup other positions in the accounting department; and other duties as needed

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business, or other related field preferred Two or more years of general accounting or finance experience in the banking industry

Skills:

Attention to detail; ability to analyze , troubleshoot, and improve processes effectively and efficiently; organized, accountable, flexible, and ability to multitask; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and Outlook; familiar with or ability to learn specialized accounting software; and an attitude that supports a team atmosphere.
