Cash Application Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join the team in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can step in quickly to help strengthen accounts receivable operations and improve the timely application of incoming payments. The position supports a busy onsite environment and offers the chance to contribute meaningful results while partnering closely with the AR team.

Responsibilities:

• Apply customer payments accurately and promptly to open accounts using established cash application procedures.
• Support accounts receivable activities by reviewing unapplied cash, researching discrepancies, and helping reduce outstanding balances.
• Post a high volume of cash receipts from multiple payment sources while maintaining strong attention to detail.
• Investigate payment variances and coordinate with internal teams to resolve short pays, overpayments, and misapplied funds.
• Reconcile daily payment activity to ensure transactions are recorded correctly and account balances remain accurate.
• Assist the AR team in addressing aged receivables and improving overall collection support through accurate payment processing.
• Work within enterprise accounting systems, including platforms such as Oracle or NetSuite, to maintain current and reliable financial records. Requirements
• Hands-on experience in cash applications within an accounts receivable environment.
• Strong working knowledge of payment posting, cash posting, and reconciliation processes.
• Ability to manage high-volume transaction workloads with accuracy and efficiency.
• Experience using large ERP or accounting systems; familiarity with Oracle or NetSuite is highly preferred.
• Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in an onsite Monday through Friday setting.
