Job Description Help for Job Description. Opens a new window. Accounting Assistant -Part-Time This position is for an accounting firm located in Port Saint Lucie, FL. The Accounting Assistant supports the accounting and finance team by performing daily bookkeeping tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with client support. This role ensures timely processing of transactions and helps keep the company's financial operations organized and efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
Record and maintain daily financial transactions (accounts payable & receivable) Process invoices, payments, and expense reports Answer incoming calls, return client calls, and place outgoing client calls to clients. Create client profiles Maintain and organize financial documents and records Assist with onboarding new accounting clients. Print and mail client documents. Assist managers with financial processes Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Perform bookkeeping tasks on a weekly and monthly schedule in Quickbooks.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance preferred) Currently pursing an associate or bachelors degree in accounting degree Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks , Xero , or similar) preferred Effective attention to detail and accuracy Detailed organizational and time management skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience in bookkeeping or administrative support Ability to handle confidential financial information Effective communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
