Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. In this contract-to-permanent role, you will play a vital part in managing payment processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring effective communication with homeowners and internal teams. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and a background in high-volume transaction environments.
Responsibilities:
- Process and record daily payments from various sources, including checks, lockboxes, and online portals.
- Accurately apply payments to homeowner accounts while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue balances and address past-due accounts.
- Conduct account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Apply account adjustments in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Oversee delinquent accounts through proactive follow-ups, sending statements, and issuing late notices or demand letters.
- Collaborate with legal teams on advanced collection efforts, including liens and escalated cases.
- Provide homeowners with clear explanations of billing, assessments, and account activity to resolve disputes.
- Work closely with property managers and internal departments to address account-related issues.
- Support audits and reporting processes by supplying accurate documentation and data. Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts receivable or collections.
- Proven ability to handle high-volume transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining data integrity.
- Effective communication skills, particularly in managing collections conversations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic functions like tracking and reconciliations.
- Familiarity with property management or accounting software such as Vantaca or AppFolio is preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in a real estate or property management environment is a plus.
