Job Description

Accounting Coordinator Position Summary The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting function through the accurate processing, maintenance, and reconciliation of financial records and transactions. This position either processes or assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, financial reporting, and compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls. This position often serves as a bridge between accounting staff, vendors, customers, and other departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process accounts payable and subcontractor payroll transactions in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare, review, and maintain invoices, payment records, and other financial documentation. Review accounts receivable reports for payment delinquencies and orders missed during job costing process. Reconcile credit card statements, vendor statements, and general ledger accounts. Assist as needed with monthly closing processes. Verify and process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company policies. Maintain vendor account information and resolve discrepancies. Maintain subcontractor account information and notifications regarding their insurance expirations. Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation for management review. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Support employee payroll processing and related recordkeeping activities, as assigned. Perform other accounting and administrative duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and standard accounting practices. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Effective analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information. Education and Experience Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Three to five years of accounting, bookkeeping, or related financial experience. Experience with accounting systems, Excel spreadsheets, and other financial reporting tools required.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
