Job Description

Company Description Rand & Co. Holdings is an Atlanta-based permanent capital holding company with over $400M in platform revenue across nine operating companies spanning industrial manufacturing, government contracting, hospitality, consumer platforms, and financial services. RCH operates as a principal-led permanent owner, acquiring and building businesses with a long-term orientation. The firm is led by a seasoned investment and operating team and is actively expanding its portfolio. Over the last several quarters RCH has invested heavily in building an AI-augmented finance function — custom data pipelines from each portfolio company's ERP, multi-instance consolidated reporting, live three-statement forecasting, and auto-generated quarterly review decks. The work that used to take weeks of analyst time compresses to hours. The associate joins to operate, extend, and stress-test this stack alongside the Head of Finance. The Opportunity RCH is seeking a Finance Associate to serve as a core member of the platform finance function, working directly with the Head of Finance across all nine operating companies. This role is well-suited to a finance professional who is motivated by building – someone who finds more value in designing and owning financial infrastructure than in inheriting systems built by others. The scope is intentionally broad. Responsibilities span FP&A, treasury, compliance, and transaction support across a diverse portfolio. Reporting is being standardized, processes are being formalized, and the individual in this role will have direct influence over how the function develops. Candidates who thrive in defined, fully structured environments will find this role a poor fit. Candidates who are energized by that level of ownership will find it exceptional. The platform finance stack is being built with AI-first tooling (Claude Code as the primary co-pilot, Next.js dashboards, Supabase, Python data pipelines). The associate will operate, validate, and extend this stack — not just consume Excel exports from it. Candidates who view AI tools as a side-of-desk productivity hack rather than the core of how finance gets done will find this role a poor fit. The role reports to the Head of Finance with visibility into senior platform leadership and active deal activity. What You Will Do Financial Planning and Analysis Support monthly financial reporting across all portfolio companies via the platform's custom dashboards — collect actuals from source systems (ERP / GL), validate against the platform's reconciliation views, build variance analysis, surface issues to leadership. Drive the annual budgeting process across RCH operating companies Build, validate, and extend the platform's custom dashboards (Next.js web apps backed by Supabase) — revenue, margin, cash, and bespoke views per portfolio company. Excel reports are a fallback, not the default. Work directly with company-level finance contacts to establish reliable reporting cadences and improve data quality Identify gaps in financial infrastructure across the portfolio, build the processes to close them, and drive their adoption — define the cadence, document it, get company-level teams who don't report to finance onto the new way of working, and retire the legacy workflow rather than letting it run in parallel. Operate the AI-built forecast pipelines (customer-level revenue, P&L reconciliation, 5-year three-statement projection, 13-week cash). Understand the methodology well enough to QA outputs, spot data issues, and direct improvements with the Head of Finance. Support consolidation integrity across multi-entity platforms — reconcile entity-level results up to consolidated, validate intercompany eliminations, and catch presentation reclasses and mismatched comparisons before they reach leadership or lenders. Prepare periodic reporting packages for leadership, lenders, and quarterly reviews — the point-in-time materials (review decks, lender cheat sheets, covenant summaries) that sit on top of the live dashboards. Treasury and Cash Management Monitor cash positions across portfolio companies and flag liquidity risks proactively Maintain the platform-level 13-week cash forecast and weekly liquidity review across portfolio companies. Surface covenant headroom and liquidity inflection points to the Head of Finance, Portco and RCH Leadership. Maintain intercompany trade tracking, capital allocation across portfolio companies, and debt covenant compliance. Support lender reporting and lender calls across the portfolio — build the reporting package (actuals vs. budget, covenant calculations, entity-level detail), lead the calls alongside the Head of Finance, and support refinancings.
This includes the harder cases:
companies in covenant default, where the work extends to breach analysis, waiver requests, and direct lender conversations. Compliance and Controls Coordinate background and credit screening processes for vendor and personnel diligence Support internal controls development as the platform scales Support external audits and manage relationships with auditors, tax preparers, and outside advisors — including engagement scope and fees. Maintain organized records, drive audit readiness across the portfolio, and manage qualified-opinion and exception situations through to resolution. Technology and AI Tools Operate alongside the platform's AI-built finance stack — Claude Code is our primary co-pilot, with custom Next.js dashboards, Python / TypeScript data pipelines, and Supabase as the system of record. You will spend material time directing AI agents, validating their outputs against source data, and shipping improvements — not chatting with ChatGPT to write better emails. Help build and extend the team's AI-assisted finance stack alongside the Head of Finance — ERP data syncs, custom forecast engines, quarterly review deck generation, Excel model exports, and reconciliation tooling. Expect to ship code (with AI doing most of the typing) and to ship process. Comfortable reading code (Python / TypeScript / SQL) well enough to verify what an AI agent has produced or can easily spot issues with the results and use Claude Code to fix it. You should bring a product management mindset to the finance role by understanding what problems need to be solved and how can that be accomplished. Bring a builder's mindset to financial systems: if a process is manual and repetitive, you should want to automate it Deal Support Assist with financial modeling and diligence on active acquisition targets Support data room organization, financial analysis, and transaction materials on an as-needed basis Help newly-acquired portfolio companies onto the platform's FP&A stack post-close — data ingestion, dashboard configuration, forecast set-up. Each new acquisition is also a stack-build project. Who We Are Looking For 3 to 5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, accounting, or Big 4 advisory; recent operating experience with multi-entity / multi-segment businesses (intercompany, consolidations, currency or instance-level rollups) a plus. Comfortable building structure where it does not exist – you do not need a fully defined playbook to do good work Has driven a process or system change that other people had to adopt — not just built a tool and handed it off. You know that the hard part is getting people who didn't ask for the change to actually use it and to stop doing it the old way. Active user of agentic AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Aider, similar) — not just chatbots. You have shipped automations or analyses where the AI wrote most of the code and you directed / verified the work. Candidates who can only describe ChatGPT prompting will be screened out. Strong in Excel and financial modeling AND comfortable with web-based dashboards, SQL, and lightweight data tools. You can pivot a P&L in your sleep but you also reach for a SQL query when the answer isn't obvious in the dashboard. Excel-only candidates will struggle. A communicator who can work across operating teams and get reliable information out of people who are not finance professionals Discreet, organized, and trustworthy – you will have access to sensitive financial and personnel information across the platform Inclined to question AI output before relying on it. Our forecast engine is good but it is not infallible — the people who catch the methodology drift early are the ones who build the most trust with portfolio company CEOs. Atlanta-based or willing to relocate – this role is in office Compensation and Upside RCH offers a competitive base salary, annual performance bonus, and full benefits. For candidates who demonstrate exceptional performance and long-term commitment, the firm is open to structuring participation in portfolio company economics – including carried interest or direct equity in individual businesses. RCH is built around an ownership mentality, and compensation is designed to reflect that over time.
Base salary:
$90,000 to $115,000 depending on experience. To Apply Qualified candidates should submit a resume and a brief note describing specifically how they use Claude Code (or similar agentic coding tools) in their professional work — what they've built, what they've automated, what they've validated. Include a link, a screenshot, or a code excerpt if you can. Generic "I use ChatGPT for emails" answers will not stand out. careers@rcholdings.com.
