Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Coder/Biller/AR Specialist, where your expertise will drive accurate medical coding, efficient billing processes, and effective accounts receivable management. In this vital role, you will ensure that medical claims are correctly coded and submitted promptly, helping to optimize revenue cycle operations. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems will directly impact the financial health of our organization while supporting seamless patient care. Responsibilities Accurately assign diagnosis codes ICD-10 and ICD coding standards to ensure precise medical record documentation. Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes for procedures and services to facilitate correct billing. Review medical records and documentation to verify the accuracy of coding and billing information. Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies via EMR (Electronic Medical Record) or EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, ensuring compliance with payer requirements. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection practices, including patient communication and account reconciliation. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and outstanding accounts receivable (AR). Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding or billing discrepancies promptly. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology to accurately interpret clinical documentation. Proficiency in DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) assignment for inpatient coding scenarios. Experience with
ICD-10, CPT
coding, and ICD coding standards across various specialties. Familiarity with medical billing processes, insurance claim submission, and AR management. Ability to navigate EMR/EHR systems efficiently for coding and billing tasks. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in medical records and coding procedures. Effective communication skills for liaising with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
