Memphis, Tennessee, United States Apply for this job We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our team as a Payroll Tax Accounting Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting support, focusing on multi-state payroll taxes.

Responsibilities:
Process timely and accurate payroll tax returns Oversee all facets of multi-state payroll tax payment processing, tax return preparation, and payroll tax reporting compliance Prepare tax returns and invoice adjustments to collect discrepancies from the client Keep abreast of current tax laws to ensure compliance Assist customers with tax registrations Resolve tax issues and communicate with client Request abatement of penalty with state agencies Reconcile tax related general ledger accounts and journal entries Prepare and maintain all payroll tax related files weekly and quarterly Perform account analysis, reconciliations and year end W-2 processes Convert clients to new state agent websites Perform other duties as assigned such as special projects and research
Qualifications:
2 - 5 years of experience with payroll tax filings and compliance High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred Must have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills required Experience with payroll tax software a plus Multi-state tax filing a plus
