Job Description

Overview Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible, but not limited to, maintaining accounts receivables, insurance claims and patient accounts through research and follow-up for successful adjudication or resubmission.
Responsibilities:
  • Effectively resolve insurance carrier denials, appealing claims, and responding to insurance carrier correspondence and/or inquiries for both office and ambulatory surgery center. To include timely follow up on Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Comp or Commercial insurance companies to collect on outstanding claims.
  • Work through athenaNet to identify, research, and resolve via the appropriate dashboard, report, and/or relative Worklist.
  • Investigate and report root cause in trends that negatively impact revenue goals or intended workflows and participate in the resolution process.
  • Maintain communication with CFO and promptly follow-up with other departments as needed when seeking additional information on a denied claim.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years medical practice and physician billing experience required;
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 medical coding, reimbursement guidelines and medical terminology required;
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures;
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of staff and customers;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; and
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills; confident and articulate
