Accounts Payable Coordinator

Accounts Payable Manager Construction | Waianae, Hawaii Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Manager to join our growing construction company and its subsidiaries. This individual will oversee the full accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, subcontractor payments, vendor relationships, and job cost allocations in a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong AP experience within construction or project-based industries, a high level of accountability, and the ability to improve processes while supporting day-to-day accounting operations. Responsibilities Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process for multiple projects and vendors Review, code, and process vendor invoices, subcontractor billings, and expense reports Ensure invoices are accurately coded to the appropriate jobs, phases, and cost codes Coordinate subcontractor and vendor payments, including tracking lien waivers, insurance certificates, and compliance documentation Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Monitor AP aging and assist with cash flow planning and payment scheduling Work closely with Project Managers and Operations teams to verify invoice approvals and project-related expenses Maintain organized AP records and supporting documentation Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations Support implementation and improvement of AP workflows, controls, and processes Help ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures Supervise and mentor AP staff, if applicable Qualifications 3+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within construction, contracting, or project-based industries Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems Preferred Experience Experience with Sage, or similar systems is a plus Understanding of lien waivers, certified payroll, and subcontract compliance documentation preferred Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Health benefits Paid time off and holidays Opportunity for long-term growth within a stable and growing local company About the Company A locally established construction company focused on delivering high-quality projects throughout Hawaii. $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
