Job Description

Pacific Historic Parks is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and assist with maintaining accurate financial records. This position plays an important role in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close activities while supporting the organization's overall financial operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General Accounting & Month-End Close Support month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly Assist with financial reporting and cash analysis Support audit and tax documentation requests Revenue & Accounts Receivable Record daily sales and reconcile cash receipts with POS and bank records Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding balances Review accounts receivable aging reports Accounts Payable Review, code, and process vendor invoices Maintain vendor records and assist with setup and updates Process check, ACH, and wire payments with appropriate approvals Reconcile vendor statements and monitor aging reports Reporting & Compliance Prepare monthly reports for outside agencies as required Assist with internal financial reporting Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls Additional Responsibilities Assist with physical inventory counts Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries Perform clerical and administrative duties including filing, scanning, and organizing financial records Support other departments as needed Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential information professionally Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Physical Requirements Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods Ability to occasionally stand, squat, knee Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds Benefits & Perks Pacific Historic Parks offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including: Employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage for employees 401(k) plan with employer match and immediate vesting Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays Life Insurance Opportunity to work in a mission-driven organization dedicated to preserving history and supporting national parks throughout the Pacific region Pacific Historic Parks is proud to provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status under applicable law.
