Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and driven Accounting Specialist to take ownership of both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable in a fast-paced, service-based environment. This is a highly visible role where you'll partner closely with operations, sales, and leadership to keep projects on track, improve cash flow, and strengthen financial processes.

What You'll DoOwn the Full Accounting Cycle (AP & AR)Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable, including customer setup, contract billing, monthly invoicing (~200/month), statements, and collectionsLead Accounts Payable processes: invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing (ACH, checks)Take primary ownership of AP (with some admin support) and collaborate on project-related purchasingDrive Cash Flow & Collections StrategyManage and reduce aging receivablesPartner with Sales and Operations to improve collections and resolve outstanding balancesCreate dashboards and reports to provide visibility and drive actionManage Billing & Client AccountsOversee budget billing for commercial clients (seasonal and recurring service plans)Handle 12-month full-service billing programsEnsure accurate invoicing, payment tracking, and account maintenanceHandle Cash Applications & Payment ProcessingApply and reconcile payments across multiple channels (ACH, checks, bank transfers, payment portals, etc.)Administer autopay systems and ensure timely, accurate postingsSupport Financial Accuracy & ReportingAssist with month-end close, reconciliations, and maintaining clean financial recordsMonitor job costing and project performance to ensure work stays within budgetSupport fixed asset tracking, including vehicles and equipmentImprove Processes & Make an ImpactIdentify opportunities to streamline workflows and introduce AI-enabled efficienciesMaintain strong controls while improving speed and accuracyJump into financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as neededWhat You BringStrong understanding of AP/AR processes and accounting fundamentalsAbility to manage multiple priorities and stay organized in a high-volume environmentComfort working cross-functionally with operations and sales teamsA proactive mindset with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvemen
