Job Description

Accounting Specialist at Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Council, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Position Summary The Accounting Specialist is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations and reporting. The role also provides administrative support for human resources functions. The position ensures accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, and Girl Scouts of the USA policies, while maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters. The position supports audits, internal controls, and financial reporting, and serves as backup to the VP of Finance as needed. Key Responsibilities Manage accounts payable, cash disbursements, deposits, invoicing, vendor records, and credit cards Process bi-weekly payroll; serve as liaison with HR/payroll provider Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax and compliance reports, including 1099s Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and the Board and assist with analyzation of key data Maintain general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and bank reconciliations Support budget tracking, management reports, audits, and account analysis Maintain accounting systems, financial records, and purchase requisitions, including vendor management Support HR functions including job postings and applicant tracking Manage assigned insurance and receivable-related activities Recommend and support accounting policies and internal controls, including identifying inefficiencies and recommending process improvements or systems. Provide clear, timely financial information to non‑finance staff Act as secondary finance contact in the absence of the VP of Finance Adheres to Council and GSUSA policies, standards, procedures and Girl Scout Promise and Law Supports and promotes the Council's and GSUSA's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and pluralism Other duties as assigned to reach the goals of the
