Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Construction Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage the financial records and bookkeeping functions specific to construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Your expertise will help keep our projects on track financially, providing essential support for project managers and executive leadership. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your skills in accounting software and financial concepts will directly contribute to the success of our construction initiatives. Duties Maintain accurate general ledger accounting records for multiple construction projects, including job cost tracking and project-specific financial data Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring proper debits and credits in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project-specific accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and vendor communication Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation regularly to verify account accuracy Assist with budgeting processes by analyzing project costs and preparing financial reports for management review Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline bookkeeping tasks and generate financial statements Support payroll processing and tax-related activities as needed within the construction accounting framework Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or issues requiring resolution and ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards Qualifications Proven experience with bookkeeping in a construction or related industry setting Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks,, or equivalent programs Knowledge of GAAP standards, double entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting principles Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry Join us as a Construction Bookkeeper where your expertise will help build strong financial foundations for our projects.
