ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-obsessed, process-driven Bookkeeper to own the accuracy, reconciliation, and monthly close of our accounting system. This role is not about financial strategy or reporting—it is about ensuring the books are clean, balanced, and correct. You will oversee a part-time assistant bookkeeper and ensure all transactions, reconciliations, and systems (POS → QuickBooks) are accurate and complete.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Daily review of accounting activity (QuickBooks + POS integration) Bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations Month-end close (5-7 day timeline) Ensuring POS (Edge) balances to QuickBooks Accounts payable processing oversight Identifying and resolving discrepancies Maintaining clean, audit-ready books Managing and reviewing assistant bookkeeper work

Financial analysis or forecasting Strategic finance decisions Payroll processing or HR administration

SKILLS NEEDED

Strong QuickBooks experience (Desktop preferred) Proven ability to complete full reconciliations independently Experience closing books monthly (not just data entry) High attention to detail (errors are not acceptable in this role) Ability to identify and fix discrepancies without direction

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Retail or inventory-based business POS system integrations (Edge or similar) Multi-location accounting Working with external CPA firms

Books are reconciled monthly without issues POS and QuickBooks consistently match No "mystery balances" or cleanup required Month-end close is completed on time, every time
