Job Description
Position Summary:
The Accounts Payable Assistant Intern is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals seeking hands-on experience in accounting and finance operations. This role provides practical training in accounts payable processes, administrative support, and professional office procedures within a collaborative business environment. The intern will work closely with the accounting and finance team to learn day-to-day accounts payable responsibilities while developing organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. No prior accounting experience is required; training will be provided.Essential Functions:
Assist with processing vendor invoices and payment requests Review invoices for accuracy and proper documentation Enter invoice and payment information into accounting systems Organize and maintain electronic and paper financial records Assist with filing, scanning, and document management Support the reconciliation of invoices and purchase orders Help monitor payment due dates and vendor communications Respond professionally to internal and external inquiries Assist with data entry and administrative accounting tasks Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information Participate in training sessions and team meetings Perform other administrative or accounting support duties as assignedLearning Opportunities:
This internship is designed to provide practical exposure and professional development in the following areas: Accounts payable processes and procedures Basic accounting principles and financial operations Business communication and professionalism Accounting software and data entry systems Organization and time management skills Workplace collaboration and problem-solving Qualifications No prior accounting or office experience is required. Training and mentorship will be provided throughout the internship. High school diploma, GED, or currently enrolled in a high school, college, or vocational program Interest in accounting, finance, business administration, or office operations Basic computer and keyboarding skills Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Positive attitude and dependable work ethic Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Strong organizational and communication skillsPhysical Demands:
May sit for long periods of time Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction device(s) Dexterity and hand to eye coordination as normally associated with operating office equipment, computers and telephonesWork Environment:
