Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices while maintaining compliance with financial policies and regulations. Your expertise in accounting software, financial concepts, and data entry will help streamline our financial operations and support overall organizational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team committed to excellence and accuracy in financial management. Duties Process and verify all incoming vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies related to accounts payable transactions Prepare and post journal entries related to accounts payable activities, maintaining proper documentation Manage vendor payments through various platforms such as Workday, Paychex, or other financial software systems Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including data entry into accounting systems like QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft Assist with month-end closing procedures, including general ledger reconciliation and analysis of payable accounts Support compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements Collaborate with the human resources department on benefits administration and payroll-related tasks using ADP, Kronos, or UltiPro Requirements Proven experience in accounts payable processing within a corporate or public accounting environment Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial concepts such as debits & credits and double-entry bookkeeping Proficiency with accounting software including Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms Knowledge of payroll management systems like ADP or Kronos is a plus Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency) and attention to detail Ability to perform account reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation efficiently Familiarity with governmental accounting standards or non-profit accounting is advantageous Strong analysis skills for resolving discrepancies and supporting financial reporting efforts Join us in a role that empowers you to utilize your technical accounting expertise while supporting our organization's financial health. Pay:
$19.00 - $26.00 per hour
