Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in New Albany, Indiana. In this role, you will play a key part in managing vendor payments and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable processes. This position offers a hybrid work option and requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Process and review high volumes of vendor invoices, ensuring appropriate approvals, accurate GL coding, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices by collaborating with purchasing managers.
  • Serve as a proficient user of accounts payable automation platforms and accounting system modules.
  • Coordinate daily visual management meetings with the Shared Services Supervisor to streamline AP operations.
  • Provide support to internal departments and vendors by addressing inquiries and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Prepare weekly payment files for approval and processing, ensuring timely execution.
  • Monitor accounts payable inboxes to respond to inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Reconcile outstanding balances with key suppliers and perform detailed research to address discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate month-end procedures, including invoice accruals and cutoff processes.
  • Assist with external audits, tax filings, and 1099 reporting through meticulous recordkeeping. Requirements
  • High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with a strong understanding of AP workflows.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, such as NetSuite, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing accounting is an asset.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with vendors and internal teams.
