CFO Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of the Club by supporting the accounting department with daily operations and financial recordkeeping. This position involves processing invoices/payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with financial reporting and purchasing. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring accuracy in all financial matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Verifying transactions comply with financial policies and procedures established by the Club Receiving, verifying coding, obtaining signatures and entering Accounts Payable (A/P) invoices, employee reimbursements, deposits etc. into accounting software Assist in managing weekly disbursements in accordance with cash flow Processing checks for vendors weekly for mailing, and manual checks as and when required Facilitate ordering of small equipment and supplies from online sources which require payment by credit card Upholding professionalism by providing courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors Performing other duties as assigned The essential Merchandise Inventory functions include, but are not limited to the following: Troubleshooting quantity discrepancies with Pro Shop staff Ensuring compliance with proper procedures through regular review of pro shop merchandise inventory receipts submitted with invoices for payment Assist in the reconciliation of merchandise inventory quantities with Pro Shop staff. Performing other merchandise inventory work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
General understanding of accounting practices and principles Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) Must possess proficient ability to communicate in English in oral and written format Ability to apply discretion and trust with confidential material Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial data Ability to effectively apply analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines High attention to details, ability to take directions, self-check and follow up on work
Education:
Associate degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field preferred Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered
Experience:
Two or more years Accounts Payable and/or
Inventory Management Working Conditions:
Full time Monday through Friday In person
