Finance Department Location:
Park City, KS Status:
Full-Time | Non-Exempt Position Summary The City of Park City is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our Finance Department. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role supports core financial operations including general ledger management, accounts payable, financial reporting, audit preparation, and assistance with the annual budget process. This position requires strong accounting knowledge, high accuracy, professionalism, and excellent organizational and communication skills. Salary $24.80 - $30.97 per hour Key Responsibilities Perform general ledger functions, including journal entries and financial reporting Prepare monthly financial reports for City Council and Quarterly Treasurer's Reports Assist with annual budget preparation (salaries, benefits, and documentation) Manage accounts payable: Purchase orders Invoice processing Vendor records and payment vouchers Prepare and issue 1099 forms in compliance with IRS and state regulations Complete and submit sales tax and water protection/clean drinking water fee reports Prepare audit work papers and assist with annual audits Review and process employee travel expense reports Deliver daily bank deposits Provide backup support within the Finance Department as needed
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED Minimum of three (3) years of related accounting experience
Preferred:
Degree in Accounting or related field
Skills & Abilities:
