Job Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a government organization in Berea, Ohio on a Long-term Contract assignment. In this role, you will help keep the payables process running smoothly by reviewing invoices, supporting timely vendor payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. This opportunity is well suited for someone who is organized, detail focused, and comfortable managing a steady flow of transactions in a busy accounting environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Review incoming vendor invoices, confirm supporting documentation, and enter payment details accurately into the accounting system.
  • Check that purchase orders, approvals, and account coding are complete before invoices move forward for payment.
  • Assist with scheduled payment processing, including check runs and other approved disbursement activities.
  • Reconcile vendor statements, investigate differences, and work directly with suppliers to resolve payment issues.
  • Provide accounts payable support during month-end activities by preparing reports, tracking open items, and helping the team meet closing deadlines.
  • Respond to questions from internal departments and external vendors regarding invoice progress, payment timing, and account balances.
  • Maintain orderly financial files and supporting records to strengthen audit readiness and document retention.
  • Contribute to audit support, data clean-up efforts, and other accounting projects as assigned.
