Dealership Accounting Clerk

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Dealership Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic Dealership. This role is essential in managing the dealership's financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in accounting records, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, familiarity with various accounting software, and a thorough understanding of dealership and corporate accounting principles. Key responsibilities include processing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing journal entries, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP. The successful candidate will also assist with payroll management, tax filings, and financial reporting, utilizing tools like Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, and other financial software. Attention to detail, analytical skills, and a proactive approach are vital for success in this role. Duties Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice entry and payment processing using software such as Sage, Xero, or Ceridian. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to ensure accuracy of financial data. Prepare journal entries for various transactions in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Reconcile general ledger accounts regularly to maintain integrity of financial statements. Support payroll management activities using systems like ADP or UltiPro; ensure proper tax withholding and reporting. Assist with month-end closing procedures and prepare financial reports for management review. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and data entry. Ensure compliance with SOX controls and governmental accounting standards when applicable. Collaborate with internal teams on budgeting, audit preparation, and process improvements. Support tax filings by providing necessary documentation and ensuring timely submissions. Experience Minimum of 2 years' experience in dealership or corporate accounting roles; experience in public accounting is a plus. Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of GAAP principles along with governmental or non-profit accounting experience preferred. Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or Kronos; knowledge of payroll management best practices. Experience handling accounts payable/receivable functions including account reconciliation and journal entries. Knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as double entry bookkeeping and balance sheet reconciliation. Ability to interpret financial concepts accurately while maintaining high attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Pay:
