Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our team dedicated to supporting supervised independent living programs. In this vital role, you will manage the financial records, ensure accurate bookkeeping practices, and maintain compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help facilitate smooth financial operations, support organizational transparency, and contribute to the overall success of our mission-driven services. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Excel, or similar platforms. Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation to ensure data integrity. Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify financial accuracy. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare detailed financial reports, including budget reports, financial statements, and audit documentation aligned with State of Louisiana guidelines. Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and organizational policies. Assist with governmental accounting requirements and tax filings relevant to non-profit or community-based organizations. Requirements Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Excel, or similar platforms. Strong understanding of accounting principles, including Louisiana guidelines and double-entry bookkeeping methods. Demonstrated ability in bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis. Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and non-profit financial management is preferred. Familiarity with technical accounting concepts such as journal entries, debits & credits, and financial report writing. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to perform 10-key typing accurately for data entry tasks. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
