Job Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing international construction company in Metairie, Louisiana. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a detail-focused accounting specialist who enjoys keeping payables operations organized, accurate, and on schedule. In this role, you will support day-to-day invoice processing, payment activities, and financial record maintenance while partnering closely with the Accounting Manager and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage clerical and administrative activities that support the accounts payable and finance function on a daily basis.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, assign appropriate coding, and prepare batches for timely entry and payment processing.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, vendor questions, and other accounts payable issues with care and urgency.
  • Process employee expense submissions and maintain complete documentation for approvals and reimbursement tracking.
  • Reconcile accounts payable subledger activity to the general ledger and help maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare, verify, and distribute check payments and assist with ACH-related transactions, including requests requiring expedited handling.
  • Receive, organize, and route incoming department mail, then file and maintain invoices, checks, and related financial documents.
  • Support audit requests and contribute to special assignments and process-related tasks as needed by the accounting team.
