Accounting Specialist

We are hiring an accounting specialist for a mission-driven organization dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable housing and essential support services. They manage a diverse portfolio of properties, focusing on both property-holding phases and ongoing non-profit accounting to serve their community.

salary:

$28.85 - $33.65 per hourshift: Firstwork hours: 8 AM - 4

No Degree RequiredResponsibilitiesDaily Responsibilities The role is centered on specialized accounting for a specific subset of the portfolio, balancing property-specific data with broader non-profit financial management:

Portfolio Management:

Oversee the financial health and reporting for 5 specific properties.

Core Accounting:

Perform high-volume bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and the preparation of journal entries.

General Ledger Maintenance:

Manage rigorous schedule keeping to ensure all financial deadlines and reporting cycles are met accurately.

Property & Non-Profit Accounting:

Handle accounting for properties during the holding phase and transition into non-profit accounting cycles on a monthly basis.

System Utilization:

Use RealPage (a system similar to Yardi) for daily data entry, tracking, and financial reporting.

Absolute Must-Haves Software Proficiency:

Prior experience with RealPage or a similar property management software (such as Yardi) is required.

Technical Accounting Skills:

A strong grasp of intercompany reconciliations and the ability to manage complex journal entries independently.

Niche Experience:

Familiarity with non-profit accounting or property-holding financial structures.
