Job Description
Robert Half Accounts Receivable Clerk Norwood, MA Apply Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support daily receivables activity for a team based in Norwood, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is highly organized, comfortable working in a fully onsite setting, and confident managing billing, payment posting, and collection efforts. The role offers the chance to contribute to accurate cash flow reporting while maintaining strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Manage incoming payments by applying cash accurately and reconciling customer accounts in a timely manner.
- Prepare and issue invoices while ensuring billing records remain complete, current, and accurate.
- Follow up with commercial clients regarding outstanding balances and work to resolve past-due accounts professionally.
- Review receivable aging reports to identify collection priorities and support consistent account maintenance.
- Investigate payment discrepancies, short pays, and unapplied cash to ensure proper resolution.
- Communicate with internal departments to clarify account details, billing questions, and payment status updates.
- Maintain organized financial documentation and support reporting related to accounts receivable activity. Requirements
- Previous experience in accounts receivable with hands-on responsibility for billing, cash application, and account follow-up.
- Working knowledge of commercial collections and the ability to communicate effectively regarding outstanding payments.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to process transactions accurately and maintain reliable records.
- Comfortable using accounting or ERP systems along with spreadsheets to track receivables activity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, fully onsite office environment.
- Solid problem-solving skills for researching account discrepancies and resolving payment issues.
