Accounting Clerk Job Type:
Full Time On-Site, Salary with Benefits Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support our finance department. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with day-to-day clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities Financial Data Entry:
Record, review, and post accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) batches into accounting software.
Credit Checks:
New Customer account set-up to include credit checks and collection of Sales Tax status and
Resale Certificates Payment Processing:
Prepare and process invoices, verify accuracy against purchase orders, and ensure timely payments to vendors.
Record Maintenance:
Maintain a comprehensive and orderly financial filing system for all documentation, including receipts and tax records.
Administrative Support:
Assist with month-end closing, annual audits, and general office duties like scanning and filing. Answer incoming calls and transfer to the appropriate department or extension.
Required Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experience with accounting software. QuickBooks Desktop preferred
Experience:
[2-5+] years of experience in a clerical accounting or bookkeeping role. Key Skills & Competencies Attention to
Detail:
High level of accuracy in data entry and numerical calculations.
Integrity:
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with strict confidentiality.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
Time Management:
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines, especially during month-end or tax season.
