Worcester, Massachusetts Position Overview A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, vendor payments, expense reports, and accounts payable records. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment. Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation. Code and enter non-purchase order invoices into the accounting system. Assist with weekly payment processing, including checks and electronic payments. Process vendor credits and maintain accurate records of prepayments and outstanding balances. Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor inquiries. Review employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and proper accounting treatment. Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records and supporting documentation. Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve payment-related issues. Support month-end closing activities and other accounting projects as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. 3-5 years of Accounts Payable or general accounting experience. Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software. Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Dependable, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities. Work Environment Professional office environment. Primarily sedentary work involving extended periods of computer use. Requires attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting. Regular interaction with internal teams and external vendors.
