The Prince George's County Department of Social Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Finance Account Clerk , grade G06 position, in the Family Investmen t Division . About the Position This is an entry-level position. Individual will be responsible for the department's financial matters. This position serves as a member of the Department's Finance team and is supervised/evaluated by the Accounts Payable Supervisor. About the Agency The Prince George's County Department of Social Services is in the business of providing opportunities for residents of the County to become independent, responsible and stable members of the community. We do this by providing intervention services that strengthen families, protect children and vulnerable adults, encourage self-sufficiency and promote personal responsibility. We assist our customers through such programs as Temporary Cash Assistance, Food Supplement Program, Medical Assistance, Emergency Assistance, and Foster Care and Adoption Service. Identifies and assigns the correct bank account and chart of account codes to Cash and Check Receipts for deposit. Prepares of bank deposit slips. Maintenance of deposits log. Prepare daily deposit worksheets. Investigates and processes returned checks. Reconciles Probation and Parole Overpayment Accounts. Prepares CCU exception and posting report. Prepares monthly CCU cash collection spreadsheet. Balances CCU exception and posting report with the monthly CCU cash collection spreadsheet. Posts payments to CARES and processes refunds where necessary. Prepares memos for reimbursement of Refunds and records same when received. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED certificate. Six (6) months of experience in general clerical, administrative support, customer service, data entry, or other related work involving the handling of records, numerical information, or routine office tasks. An equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
