Bookkeeper
Bookkeeper - Laurel, MD Job Summary Beacon Hill has partnered with a client in Laurel, MD who is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This role ensures timely processing of financial transactions, proper documentation, and adnce to accounting best practices. The Bookkeeper will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support financial reporting, reconciliations, and overall financial accuracy.
Job ResponsibilitiesMaintain and record daily financial transactions within the accounting systemManage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments, and collections trackingReconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accountsAssist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processesPrepare and maintain accurate financial records and reportsSupport payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements, as neededMonitor outstanding balances and follow up on discrepancies or past-due accountsEnsure accurate coding of transactions and compliance with internal proceduresAssist with audits, tax preparation, and coordination with external accountantsMaintain organized and confidential financial records and documentationIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficienciesRequirementsExperience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliationsStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial informationPreferred QualificationsExperience in the construction and/or engineering industryFamiliarity with accounting systems Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldExperience assisting with audits or month-end closeBeacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals with disabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
