Job Description

Gagnon's Auto & RV Sales, Inc. has an immediate opening for a full-time Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk. The Bookkeeper/Accounting Clerk is responsible for managing daily financial transactions. Responsibilities include tracking vehicle inventory (new/used), posting sales transactions, and reconciling floor plan loans, ensuring accurate financial records, including Accounts Payable/Receivable and monthly closing reports. This position will be Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM Key Responsibilities and Duties
    Inventory Management:
    Recording new inventory (vehicles), tracking costs (add-ons, rebates), and updating books when vehicles are sold or traded.
      Transaction Recording:
      Posting daily transactions from sales, service, and parts departments using dealer software.
        Reconciliation:
        Reconciling bank statements, daily cash deposits, and manufacturer floor plan financing for inventory.
          Accounts Payable/Receivable:
          Processing vendor invoices, managing customer payments, and reviewing bank receipts, notes, and chargebacks.
            Month-End Closing:
            Preparing schedules, assisting with financial statements (P&L), and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

            Experience:
            3-5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in an automotive setting.
            • Proficiency with accounting software and MS Excel, strong 10-key typing skills, and high attention to detail.
