Job Summary Maintains accurate records of transactions, maintains exact records of accounts payables; reconciles accounts payable with invoices, processes expense reports; writes and/or issues payments on accounts, process petty cash and transfers funds. - Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
- Basic knowledge to process documentation required to pay invoices.
- Ability to operate computer and other general office equipment.
- Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations. Job Tasks/Duties
- Maintain a check register, accounts payable, general journal.
- Efficiently operate the club's in-house computer system.
- Produce accounts payable reports.
- Collect and file invoices properly and timely.
- Audit vendor invoices routinely.
- Post invoices to proper accounts correctly and sensibly.
- Process all bills for final payment according to established club policy and procedures.
- Compile and maintain credit applications for vendors.
- Manage all credit memos to assure that no incorrect charges are paid.
- Develop effective strategies to communicate with department and staff members and other departments.
- Assist with month end close and reconcile vendor statements.
- Utilize Jonas software to provide accurate accounting of club departments to managers.
- Prepares account reconciliations and general journal entries.
- Compile and maintain club credit card receipts, W-9 Forms, Certificates of Insurance, and 1099 end-of-year process.
- Completes other appropriate assignments made by the Controller. Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Prior AP experience required.
- Experienced in Microsoft Office, with proficiency in Excel preferred.
- Demonstrates organizational skills, attention to detail, good verbal communication, and general math skills.
- Knowledge of Jonas Club Management Software and Beanworks highly desirable. Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation, which includes, but is not limited to: bending, stooping, sitting for long periods, walking, lifting up to 20 lbs.
