Job Description
Company Overview Cadillac Family Physicians, PC is a Patient Centered Medical Home dedicated to delivering comprehensive, full-service medical care to our patients. We prioritize quality, compassionate healthcare in a supportive environment. Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. Working under the supervision of the Front Office Manager, you will be responsible for handling the company's accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate and timely collections and account reconciliation. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial software and excellent communication skills to maintain positive patient/physician relationships. Duties Process and post incoming payments from individuals and/or insurance carriers and reconcile daily. Review and update patient insurance and demographic information as appropriate. Follow up with individuals on past due accounts. Maintain knowledge of current insurance and coding information and alerts. Examine insurance rejections and perform non-payment follow-up. Call insurance companies regarding patient eligibility and insurance denials. Submit appeals on payer websites. Communicate with billing team and Front Office Manager regarding common denials and relevant payer updates. Review monthly report to identify claim processing delays. Assist patients and staff with billing inquiries. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and ensure the patient's right to privacy. Serve as a front desk clerk fill-in for Saturday rotation or evening closer, and other roles as needed. Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Front Office Manager and/or Practice Administrator. Handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required Proven experience in medical office billing, accounts receivable management, or related roles within a healthcare setting. Certified Professional Biller or Certified Professional Coder required. Knowledge of Medical Terminology required. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Veradigm, Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks). Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
