Temporary Assignment - Accounts Payable Specialist Detroit Area Agency on Aging - 3.7 Detroit, MI Job Details Temporary | Full-time 1 hour ago Qualifications Associate's degree in accounting Accounting systems Confidential information handling Word processing Spreadsheets Mid-level Financial analysis Invoice payment processing Financial records management Task prioritization Financial record maintenance 1 year Associate's degree Accounting File organization Payroll record maintenance Full Job Description Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist (Beginning June 2026 - December 2026, unless otherwise notified) Seeking full-time (temporary staff); 40 hours per week; 9:00a - 5:00p (in office) to perform the following duties: Process accounts payable, including maintaining and updating the accounts payable system. Interact with Finance Leadership on payroll issues as needed. Assist with the preparation of Payroll and Accounts Payable related reports. Provide financial analysis on accounts payable issues as needed. Working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, spreadsheet and word processing applications. Knowledge of methods of setting up records and filing systems. Ability to set priorities and manage work time efficiently. Ability to maintain confidential information. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
An associate degree in accounting and two years' experience in maintaining payroll records, accounts payable functions or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience Two years of education would equal one year of work experience. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines This employee is responsible for reviewing and processing accurately all company wide payables; verify accuracy of all coding of accounts with the chart of accounts and the recording of all payments into the General Ledger (Solomon). This position will also be responsible for assisting with payroll entries and processes as needed. This person reports to the Accounting Manager.
