Job Description
Leading national distributor of carbon and alloy steel pipe headquartered in Chesterfield, Missouri. We are seeking a full-time Accounting Payable Specialist to join our awesome team! This position will work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday during our core business hours 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Accounting Payable Specialist position is a position within the Accounting Department and will be responsible for the following: Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances; Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries; Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase orders, contracts, invoices, or payment discrepancies and documentation, ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos, and issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments; Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions; Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions; Understanding of P.O. processes; Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential; Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed; Month-end and Year-end account balances; Will share office administration and phone duties
