Accounting Assistant

$55,000-$58,000 a year plus 100% paid health insurance premiums Hazelwood, MO Position Overview A privately held, well-established organization is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to join its accounting team. This role will be heavily focused on Accounts Payable while offering exposure to broader accounting functions and long-term growth opportunities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and interested in developing a strong foundation in accounting within a collaborative, in-office environment. Key Responsibilities Manage all Accounts Payable activities across multiple entities Receive, process, and record vendor invoices accurately and timely Communicate with vendors regarding payables and resolve discrepancies Process and record employee credit card expenses and monthly expense reports Assist with inventory-related transactions , including receipt of raw materials and packaging Support and participate in physical inventory counts Assist with credit and collections projects as needed Perform ad hoc accounting and analytical projects Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and support additional duties as assigned Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field 1-2+ years of accounting or Accounts Payable experience Open to recent graduates with relevant internship experience Manufacturing or distribution environment experience is a plus Experience with SAP or another ERP system , or a willingness to learn Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Intermediate proficiency in Excel Basic understanding of accounting principles and
