Job Location:
This position will be located at 205 Jefferson St., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Why you'll love this position: We manage the financial transactions related to afterschool programs, child care relief funds, the First Steps Program, and the Safe Cribs for Missouri Program. We also work with professionals and contractors to navigate through any invoice and payment discrepancies. Responsibilities - What you'll do Process invoices for payment. Ensure proper coding is applied to payment documents. Track expenditures across various funding sources. Educate staff on DESE financial policies and procedures for payments and expenditures. Reconcile monthly and/or quarterly all OOC expenditures. Provide technical assistance to contractors regarding financial issues. Assist in the review and approval of budgets and payments submitted through ePeGS and PM System. Provide monthly budget and expenditure updates to OOC programmatic staff. Review, approve, and apply accurate funding codes for OOC staff travel expense reports. Collect and prepare financial data/documentation for corrective entries needed. Coordinate financial activities with DESE accounting, budget, and procurement staff as needed. Ability to multi-task accurately and see duties and assignments through to completion. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures for OOC. Provide invoicing and payment details to DESE staff, vendors, and other stakeholders, both internal and external. Ability to evaluate and analyze programmatic expenditures and make recommendations for funding changes, when necessary and feasible. Compliance with federal and state budgetary regulations. Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or high school equivalency. Experience in financial management.
