Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for an Accounts Payable Clerk at our Neosho, MO office.

Job Summary The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments, resolving invoice discrepancies, and maintaining strong communication with vendors and internal departments. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of the company's operations. Key Responsibilities Review and process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and efficiently Match invoices to purchase orders and receive documentation Verify approvals and ensure adherence to company payment policies Reconcile vendor statements and respond to inquiries in a professional and timely manner Maintain organized records of AP transactions and documentation across multiple companies Support month-end closing processes and AP account reconciliations Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and other departments to resolve discrepancies Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field a plus 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups a plus) As part of our interview process, candidates are asked to complete a brief, hands-on Excel assessment to ensure they have the necessary data management skills for this role Experience with [ERP system name, AERO, OVO] preferred Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
