This role will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions across a portfolio of commercial properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, tenant billings, financial reporting support, and general administrative accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple properties, entities, and deadlines in a fast-paced real estate environment. Prior experience in commercial real estate, property management, or multi-entity accounting is strongly preferred. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Bookkeeping Maintain accurate books and records for multiple commercial real estate properties and related entities. Process and record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, tenant receipts, vendor invoices, and journal entries. Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, loan accounts, and other balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules. Maintain organized digital and physical financial records, invoices, contracts, and supporting documentation. Accounts Payable & Vendor Management Review, code, and process vendor invoices for payment. Coordinate payment runs and ensure timely payment of property expenses, utilities, service contracts, taxes, insurance, and maintenance invoices. Track vendor W-9s, certificates of insurance, and other vendor compliance documents. Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payment status, and account discrepancies. Tenant Billing & Accounts Receivable Prepare and process tenant billings, rent invoices, CAM billings, utility reimbursements, and other charges in accordance with lease terms. Monitor accounts receivable, tenant balances, and delinquent accounts. Work with property management and ownership to follow up on past-due balances, payment issues, and account discrepancies. Apply tenant payments accurately and maintain up-to-date tenant ledgers. Property & Portfolio Reporting Support Assist in preparing monthly property financial reports, rent rolls, cash reports, and ownership reporting packages. Support annual CAM reconciliations, budget tracking, and variance reporting. Track operating expenses, capital expenditures, and property-level cash flow activity. Work closely with ownership, property management, and outside accountants to ensure accurate reporting across the portfolio. Administrative & Team Support Assist with the setup and maintenance of accounting records for new properties, tenants, and vendors. Coordinate with property managers, leasing staff, maintenance personnel, and ownership regarding property accounting issues. Help prepare information for tax filings, audits, lender reporting, and insurance requests as needed. Support special projects, process improvements, and additional accounting or administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience required; experience in commercial real estate, property management, construction, or multi-entity accounting strongly preferred. Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and general bookkeeping practices . Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cloud-based accounting systems required. Experience with QuickBooks Online strongly preferred. Experience with Yardi or other property management/accounting software is strongly preferred. Familiarity with commercial real estate accounting , including tenant billings, rent rolls, CAM reconciliations, vendor management, and property-level financial reporting , is preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across multiple properties and entities. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and ability to work well with ownership, tenants, vendors, and internal team members. High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
