Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and accountable Bookkeeper to manage the company's financial recordkeeping, reporting, and forecasting. This is an hourly position , with the expectation that all assigned responsibilities are completed accurately and within required timeframes . The role supports a multi-channel operation including DTC (Shopify), Amazon FBA, and wholesale distribution , and plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and operational visibility.

Compensation Structure Hourly Rate:

$22 - $30 per hour (based on experience) Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly) position Eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and Montana labor laws Performance is measured by accuracy, timeliness, and reliability Core Responsibilities Financial Recordkeeping & Accuracy Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across all accounts Record all transactions including sales, expenses, deposits, and adjustments Ensure proper categorization aligned with company chart of accounts Reconciliation & Controls Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processors Reconcile Shopify, Amazon FBA, and internal records to ensure accuracy Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies proactively Accounts Payable & Receivable Manage vendor invoices, payments, and due dates Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding receivables Maintain clean and organized AP/AR systems Inventory & Cost Tracking Monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation Assist in identifying inventory discrepancies and their financial impact Coordinate with operations to ensure alignment between physical and financial inventory Payroll Support Assist with payroll processing through ADP (RUN / Workforce Now) Verify accuracy of time records and wage calculations Maintain payroll records and documentation Reporting & Financial Oversight Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) Assist leadership with budgeting and financial analysis Identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities Financial Forecasting & Planning Develop and maintain monthly and quarterly financial forecasts Project revenue, expenses, cash flow, and inventory needs across all channels Analyze trends and provide forward-looking insights for decision-making Identify potential financial risks, cash shortages, or operational constraints in advance Update forecasts regularly based on real-time business conditions Assist in building and maintaining annual budgets and projections Deliver clear reporting comparing: Forecast vs. actual performance Prior period performance Growth and profitability targets Flag negative variances with recommended corrective actions Compliance & Documentation Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records Assist with W-2s, 1099s, and tax preparation Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations Performance Expectations All responsibilities must be completed accurately and within required timeframes Monthly close, payroll, and reporting deadlines are non-negotiable Maintain consistent productivity and effective time management during scheduled hours Communicate delays, issues, or discrepancies promptly Forecasting Performance Expectations Forecasts should maintain a target accuracy within ±5-10% variance Forecast updates completed before the start of each new month Financial risks should be identified proactively Reporting must be clear, actionable, and decision-ready Required Qualifications 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience Strong understanding of accounting principles Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets High attention to detail and accuracy Preferred Qualifications Experience with Shopify and Amazon FBA accounting Familiarity with inventory-based accounting systems Experience with ADP payroll systems Knowledge of accrual accounting Key Competencies Accountability and ownership Strong attention to detail Analytical and problem-solving mindset Time management and organization Professionalism and confidentiality Why This Role Matters This role directly impacts the company's financial accuracy, cash flow visibility, and ability to make informed decisions.
