Job Description

Perform a variety of accounting duties with emphasis on cash receipts and accounts receivable; exercising independent judgment in accordance with established policies, procedures, and/or government regulations ensuring all applicable deadlines are met; while assisting in other areas of the Business Office as needed. Essential Duties/Functions Prepare, verify, and reconcile all monetary deposits to ensure accurate and timely processing into appropriate college bank accounts. Prepare and maintain receipts for all college funds Verify proper posting of all daily transactions. Maintain and reconcile college account receivable records. Maintain and properly account for petty cash funds. Prepare, document, and maintain daily cash analysis for audit purposes. Prepare charge forms for processing third-party reports and Pell distribution Assist in preparation of outgoing mail and processing incoming mail for the College. Other Duties/Functions Attend training and conferences as necessary to remain current and as determined by management. Actively participate in staff development workshops, and staff meetings Maintain clean, organized work area at all times. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, specialized skills, and abilities Excellent problem solving, organizational, oral and written communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to deal with continual change. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Demonstrate ability to work with various constituencies of the college community and a diversified population of students, faculty, and staff. Ability to multi-task. Proficiency using a personal computer with knowledge of Excel and other spreadsheets. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with teams. An understanding of and commitment to the mission, goals, and objectives of the College. An associate's degree in accounting, business administration and/or related field Three years of accounting and office experienceOffice experience in an educational setting
