Job Description
Description We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join a team in Greensboro, North Carolina on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys managing core accounting activities, supporting accurate financial records, and keeping billing and payment processes on track. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across both payables and receivables while helping maintain organized, timely, and reliable accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, review payment details for accuracy, and help ensure obligations are paid within established timelines.
- Manage customer invoicing activities, monitor incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.
- Reconcile account activity by comparing financial records, identifying discrepancies, and supporting timely resolution.
- Maintain accurate accounting documentation and update financial information to support daily operational needs.
- Assist with billing-related tasks, including preparing invoices, reviewing charges, and addressing payment questions.
- Support broader accounting functions by organizing records, verifying transaction data, and contributing to month-end activities. Requirements
- Experience handling accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities in a detail-focused accounting environment.
- Working knowledge of billing processes, payment applications, and account reconciliation practices.
- Ability to review financial information carefully and identify inconsistencies or missing details.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounting tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency with standard accounting systems and Microsoft Office tools, especially spreadsheet-based work.
- Clear communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, customers, and vendors on financial matters.
