Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will be the cornerstone of our company's financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all vendor invoices and payments. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support compliance with accounting standards, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our accounts payable processes. Process and verify a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Reconcile accounts payable transactions with general ledger entries, maintaining precise records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Manage invoice approvals, coding, and data entry within accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or similar platforms. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies or payment issues promptly. Prepare and process payments via multiple methods including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and Paychex or ADP payroll systems. Maintain compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by documenting processes and supporting audit requirements. Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable and support internal audits as needed. Support other finance functions such as accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliation, and journal entries when required. Proven experience in accounts payable functions within a corporate or public accounting environment. Strong understanding of GAAP accounting standards and double entry bookkeeping principles. Proficiency with accounting software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro; experience with HRIS systems like Kronos or Ceridian is a plus. Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and journal entries. Knowledge of payroll management systems such as ADP or Paychex; experience with benefits administration is advantageous. Excellent data entry skills including 10 key typing accuracy; attention to detail is essential. Ability to analyze financial data accurately and efficiently while maintaining confidentiality. Strong organizational skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
